I was pretty young at the time and happily switched to big, heavy, short-strap, slouchy bags (like the magazines told me I should). Although my shoulders complained, I didn't give the crossover a second thought - until about 6 months ago, that is.
You see, though I'm a fairly independent gal, when it comes to fashion I'm pretty fickle and easily swayed by a good advertisement or celebrity endorsement. After seeing enough models sporting the new crossover, I decided it was time.....time to go back to the good ol' days and get me a small, lightweight, long-strap, structured purse.
It only took half a year, but I finally found "The One" a few weekends back...just sitting there at my local Smart Set store...on sale, no less! $20.00 later and I had me the perfect new purse.

It's a pint-sized interpretation of a satchel-style book bag, one that you'd see in an old film or show. Done in this gorgeous camel colour, it goes with pretty much everything I own! Also important: the main compartment is surprisingly roomy (I tote around a lot of stuff with me) and the front pouch fits my iPhone just right, so I never miss the perfect Instagram moment.
